Prestigious estate better known under the name " LA FERME
DU VESINET ", located in the neighbourhood of LE PECQ, bordering
LE VESINET and its lawns. The creation of this area dates back to
the VIIIth century following transfers of land ownership which extended
the LE VESINET lands right down to the Seine
the reason for
which the estate owes its name today, although nowadays it is situated
in the Le Pecq locality, the buildings of this estate are considered
as being " the oldest of Le Vesinet ". (The curious history
of Le Vesinet)
As History unfolded, and from the moment that Henri IV incorporated
this land into the royal estate, a " hamlet " was established
which comprised the Manor, some outbuildings, several farms and
a huge garden where nearly one hundred people lived.
It is the largest part (the central part) of this MANOR, transformed
by Count d'Artois, the future Charles X, which is for sale today,
with its tremendous historical and emotional value as well as its
considerable proportions of around 300 m2.
Built over attractive vaulted cellars with wine cellar, storage
room, as well as gas-heated boiler room, the property comprises:
- On the ground floor : entrance hall with antique tiling and with
guest WC and cloakroom , spacious fitted kitchen, attractive sitting
room with fireplace and drawing room looking out over the garden
(in the form of a manorial " gallery" added in the 1930s)
;
- On the 1st floor: 3 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and dressing-room;
- On the 2nd floor: 3 other bedrooms, games room and 2 bathrooms.
The garden, of around 980 m2, has the advantage of having an entrance
from another street providing access to the garage (with mezzanine)
as well as to the small, front-facing " kitchen garden".
With its lawn and numerous flowering plants, the garden is delightful
and has programmable automatic sprinklers as well as being floodlit.
This is an absolutely unique opportunity which is mentioned in
history manuals relating both History (with a capital H) as well
as others with more anecdotal accounts, so many events have occurred
here
it is impossible to remain indifferent to this property,
or to its tranquil surroundings, its degree of natural light, its
proximity to everything essential, as well as to the harmony and
charm of its interior layout. However, it will be necessary to wait
till August 2009 for the premises to become available: but what
does this matter compared to the rare privilege of owning such a
priceless property?
